Conference to promote winter tourism in Greece
Despite the economic crisis, the 20 Greek ski resorts reported increases in attendance in the 2012/13 season, albeit at an overall low level. With only 500,000 skier visits in the alpine ski resorts the potential of winter sports tourism is not nearly exhausted. This took the Hellenic Union of Ski Centre on the occasion, with support from the Deutsch-Griechische Versammlung, the Hanns Seidel Foundation and the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany on 18 May 2013 to organize a conference to promote winter tourism in Greece. As a keynote speaker Christoph Schrahe talked about success factors for the development of winter sport tourism as an instrument of regional development.
